The first day of Spring for the Northern Hemisphere was Saturday, March 20th! Today the Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot challenge is to share photographs that say “Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring!” I’ve dug back a few weeks into my archives and came up with a couple of photos that I think really say this sentiment. Texas does not usually get much snow. Some winters we won’t see a single snowflake but THIS winter was very different. We had several episodes of the white stuff and were quite excited and took lots of photos when we got a dusting or an inch or two. But nothing was as exciting as the days about a month ago when we got up to 12 inches! You can read about it and see my photos of our “snow blizzard” HERE.
What was even more remarkable was when the snow started melting and we had all this run off water amid the green grass which to me definitely says “Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring!” This is the area right behind our house, looking toward my hubby’s shop. It does not normally have a little running creek like this!

And below was the area right behind my house which should have been a backyard rather than a little lake!

And then just about a week after the above photos were taken, I snapped a photo of this pear tree down the road.

“Hark, in his song no tremor of misgiving!
All of his heart he pours into his lay,–
“Love, love, love, and pure delight of living:
Winter is forgotten: here’s a happy day!”
Fair in your face I read the flowery presage,
Snowy on your brow and rosy on your mouth:
Sweet in your voice I hear the season’s message,–
Love, love, love, and Spring in the South!”
