Welcome to my blog!

Hello! My name is Sandy and I live in Texas in the Weatherford area about 35 miles west of Fort Worth. I consider myself a photographer “in training”. This is my photo blog where I will post my favorite images that I shoot. I have always loved photographs, but until 2008, I had only used a point & shoot type camera for my own personal snapshots. One day I became interested in improving my photos and seeing things from a different perspective so I bought a DSLR camera in the fall of 2007 and in 2008 started taking digital photography classes both online and at the local community college. (By the way, my camera of choice is the Canon XSi or 450D.) I’ve had a great time learning about photography and I’m still learning. My personal goal is to improve every time I look in that viewfinder. My favorite subjects are animals, landscapes, flowers and the unexpected. I do photograph people and special events when the need arises.

I also like editing my photos with Photoshop. As a result, most of my photos have been tweaked or enhanced a bit before I post them on my blog or upload them to my gallery. One of my favorite Photoshop techniques is an action called “Vintage” that I picked up from The Pioneer Woman Photography blog. Another favorite action is “Boost” which is also available from The Pioneer Woman Photography blog. It’s a fabulous action that adds lots of color and pop to the images.
